Your WiFi Hero ("we," "us") is an independent authorized retailer of Astound Broadband internet service, operating in and around Austin, Texas. This policy explains what we collect when you use yourwifihero.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
The short version. We collect what you type into our eligibility form so we can check whether service is available at your address and call you back about it. We do not sell your information. We share it with Astound Broadband only when you ask us to place an order. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
When you submit the eligibility form, we collect:
- Your name, phone number, email address, and service address — everything you type into the form
- Your consent record — whether you checked the consent box, the exact wording shown to you at the time, and the date and time you submitted
- Your IP address and browser user agent — captured automatically with your submission
- How you found us — if you arrived from a QR code, printed piece, or referral link, we record which one
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on this site. We do not collect payment information here; if you place an order, Astound Broadband collects that directly.
Why we collect it
- To check whether Astound service is available at your address
- To contact you with the results and answer your questions
- To submit an order on your behalf, if you decide to sign up
- To keep a record of your consent to be contacted, as required by law
- To understand which of our flyers, signs, and ads are working
How we contact you
By checking the consent box, you agree that Your WiFi Hero and its representatives may contact you by phone call, text message, and email about internet service at the address you gave us, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of purchase — you can always call us instead.
To stop hearing from us: reply STOP to any text, tell us during any call, or email us at the address below. We will honor the request promptly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lead brokers, data brokers, or other marketers.
We share your information only with:
- Astound Broadband — when you ask us to check availability or place an order, so they can process it. Astound's own privacy policy governs what they do with it from there.
- Service providers that run our systems — for example, Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores our records. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- When the law requires it — in response to a valid legal request.
Where it's stored, and for how long
Submissions are stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare and are accessible only to us. We keep consent records for at least five years, because federal law allows claims about telephone contact to be brought for up to four years and these records are how we demonstrate you agreed to be contacted.
You may ask us to delete your information at any time. If you do, we may retain a minimal record of your consent and your opt-out request, since deleting that entirely would leave us unable to prove we had permission to contact you or that you asked us to stop.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can email us to:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Ask us to stop contacting you
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. If you are a California resident, the CCPA provides comparable rights. To exercise any of these, email us — we will not discriminate against you for asking.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions travel encrypted. Our database is not publicly accessible and holds no credentials in the website itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect payment details or government ID numbers on this site, which limits what is at stake.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging service for a household. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be communicated directly where we have a way to reach you.
